The Moto G is one of the smartest Android Phones in the market at its price. Traditionally, the battery life of the Moto G has been an issue for many users. I have had a tough time having to plug in all day long and could use only very less.
Moto G (3rd Generation)
This wasn't a problem until I had to load many apps. But when I did, I could barely use the phone for a couple of hours. However, a couple of tricks made the battery last longer than it did.
Installing AVG was helpful, as it meant a free Antivirus app as well as something that saved battery. After installing AVG, I found that the app did optimize battery performance. I had gotten a battery life 33-50% longer than it usually lasted. Though it doesn't make a huge difference, it does to some extent.
The Moto G 2nd Generation worked fine with Android Kitkat but with the Lollipop update, the battery did not stay much longer. I am not sure how the new Android update fares in this regard.
Save 3G Data with Opera Max Data Management App
Another problem I had was that I had to use about 3GB data each month which amounted to Rs. 570-600 each month. I did not like this and wanted to be more economical. Somehow, inadvertently, I came across the Opera Max Data Management App, which did well to reduce data consumption. The data figures refused to move and it did save me a lot of data.
I know many Indian users are out there who want to buy Android smartphones at a price range of Rs. 7000-12999. I chose the Moto G for its brand value and clean performance and features. As I wanted a good brand at that price, I did not also want to chose other smartphones as the Micromax, Lava, etc. The Moto G is one of the sturdiest android smartphones, mobile phones out there in its price segment. In the Rs. 8999-12999 price segment, I would consider the Moto G the leader.
